The Outer Banks Triathlon is a USAT Sanctioned Event featuring a Sprint Distance, Olympic Distance and a Half Distance.
SPRINT - Sunday September 18, 2016 = 750M / 13.5MI / 5K
OLYMPIC - Saturday September 17, 2016 = 1500M / 24.5MI / 10K
HALF - Saturday September 17, 2016 = 1.2MI / 56MI / 13.1 MI
The SAGA Outer Banks Triathlon (all three races) will start and finish next to Dare County Regional Airport and the NC Aquarium. The swim portion is located at the Old Swimming Hole location next to the Airport. The bike will be an out-and-back race on Route 64, over the Manns Harbor Bridge and into the village of Mashoes. The running portions of the three races will be out-and-back courses through the Airport, through the Mother Vineyard neighborhood and along the bike path to Heritage Point subdivision.
Start and finish are next to the Dare County Regional Airport located at 410 Airport Rd, Manteo, NC 27954 and the North Carolina Aquarium. Located at 374 Airport Rd, Manteo, NC 27954.

NO ID, NO RACE, NO EXCEPTIONS.
Every single participant, including relay participants, must have a photo ID. Youth athletes without an ID must be accompanied by a parent/guardian with a photo ID.

OUTER BANKS BICYCLE will again be available at Transition for Bike Assist and Safety Check. Remember to check your equipment before you show up at the event site. Show up with your bike ready to race. This means pumped tires, lubed chain, bar-end plugs, gears and breaks adjusted, and seats and handlebars properly fitted.

TRAFFIC: Airport Road will see the heaviest impact of traffic and cyclists between the hours of 7:30AM-1PM on Saturday, and 7AM-10:30AM on Sunday. Cyclists will be crossing the Manns arbor Bridge between 7:45AM-12:45PM on Saturday, and between 7:30AM-10:15AM on Sunday.
NC State Highway Patrol and Dare County Sheriff’s Office may deem it necessary to limit or stop vehicular traffic on Manns Harbor Bridge during the above mentioned times.
